Actor Refutes Anti-Vaccine Views Following Voicing Controversial Covid Feature
The "Taken" star has provided his voice to a new documentary that challenges the efficacy of vaccinations and praises one-time government figure the political figure.
The Feature's Disputed Basis
Named "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is based on a well-known publication co-authored by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the health crisis for allegations that the virus was a result of a bad strain of the seasonal immunization.
Her collaborator, the executive producer, has penned books with far-right figure a known commentator. He recently posted celebrating Neeson's involvement in the documentary.
An Unequivocal Denial
Representatives for Liam Neeson have issued a response strongly denying claims that he subscribes to anti-immunization beliefs.
"We all understand that corruption might be present within the medical sector, but that must not be confused with being against vaccines," the response explains. "Liam has never been, and cannot be described as, anti-vaccination. His considerable work with the global charity highlights his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."
It added that the star was not involved in crafting the project's messaging and that inquiries about its content should be directed to the creators.
Central Claims Featured in the Documentary
According to the documentary, the narration read by Neeson includes several provocative points:
- It states that pro-immunization voices have called for "unconditional submission" to public institutions.
- It declares that "research has become highly politicised."
- RFK Jr is interviewed claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
- The film further attacks Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused psychological harm that cost thousands of lives.
- Regarding Covid vaccines, it cites a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "risky trials."
Previous Background and Current Debates
The documentary further cites a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was subsequently the topic of a BBC apology by the network for violations of guidelines.
In recent weeks, RFK Jr instructed the CDC to revise its longstanding position that there is no link between vaccines and autism. This supposed link is echoed in the film, despite a fresh analysis from the World Health Organisation stating no evidence has been found.
A Past Position of Advocacy
Differing from the film's narrative, Neeson has in the past voiced strong support for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.
Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," stating that "The debate about vaccines in lately has forgotten how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."
The documentary finishes with Neeson's script stating, "This is not the end of our narrative. It is the beginning of a fresh chapter."
